Eyewitnesses confirmed that three persons were killed and eight others injured Wednesday due to a shooting incident at North Africa Bank in Qasir Benghashir, southern Tripoli.

A medical source from Qasir Benghashir’s Al-Afiya hospital confirmed that three bodies arrived at the hospital as well as eight injuries due to the deadly shooting at the bank, pointing out that three of the injuries were kept in the hospital while the rest were sent to Abu Saleem accidents hospital and Al-Sbeya hospital.

The eyewitnesses confirmed also that due to the crowdedness of the people at the bank trying to enter inside, one of the security personnel started shooting in the air to disperse those people; however, his bullets hit the steel-made parasol above the entrance of the bank, causing haphazard comeback of shrapnel, hence killing three and injuring eight others.

Meanwhile, Qasir Benghashir police station has arrested the security guard, who is accused of the shooting incident and has started interrogating him before sending him to the Attorney General’s Office.
