The Libyan General Authority of Searching for the Missing said Sunday it had recovered 12 bodies from five newly discovered mass graves in Mashroa Rabet area in Tarhouna city, which was once under Khalifa Haftar's forces before being liberated by the Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord.

The authority said the remains of the bodies were recovered by the teams tasked for depicting, unearthing and identifying mass graves in Tarhouna, where Haftar’s militias and their affiliated Al-Kani militias were committing crimes against their opponents.

The under GNA’s command discovered the five new mass graves in Tarhouna earlier on Sunday, in yet another revelation of the crimes committed by Haftart’s forces.

Since last May, when Haftar's forces were driven out of the city of Tarhouna, many mass graves have been unearthed revealing the atrocities committed by those militias against their opponents and the civilian population.
