A resident from the eastern city of Tobruk, named Faraj Bu Al-Khatabiya, has donated a piece of land (12500 m2) in Hay Al-Andalus to build a charitable hospital for tumors.

The hospital will be named "Basmat Al-Amal" which is translated as "The smile of hope."

The signing of the official paperwork was attended by Tobruk mayor, Al-Naji Maziq, and a number of civil societies activists as well as a representative for the Awqaf Authority in Tobruk.

"We appreciate this kind and generous gesture by the Tobruk local and we call on lands' owners to learn from this example to help the city build helpful projects for the residents." The mayor said.

Likewise, the Awqaf representative thanked the land owner for his charitable gesture and said this kind of acts will help treat many patients especially the children who suffer from tumors.
