Zuwara Security Directorate managed to thwart, during the past two days, an attempt of Illegal immigrants to set sail to Europe from its shores.
The Directorate explained in a statement that it had rounded up 40 migrants, including children and women from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Libya, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire while attempting to migrate towards the European shores.
The migrants were provided with initial assistance and were transferred to one of the security directorates to complete the required procedures, before handing them over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Department.
