The Municipal Council of Zuwara has denied holding an official meeting with the German ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza, in Tunis, saying those who met with the German ambassador only represent themselves.
The German ambassador met in Tunis on Sunday with a delegation from Zuwara city and discussed issues of security, economy, and migration concern.
The Presidential Council issued a decision a few days ago that prohibits officials, including city mayors, from holding any meetings with foreign countries or parties, without prior permission from the government and coordination with the Foreign Ministry.
