The city of Zuwara was put on high-security alert in the past two days, after monitoring suspicious military movements in the south of the city, specifically in the vicinity of Al-Wutya Air Base controlled by pro-Dignity Operation forces.

In a statement to the Libya Observer Friday, the Mayor of Zuwara Hafez Bin Sassi explained that the alert came in anticipation of any military movements that might threaten the security and stability of the city.

The Military Chamber of Zuwara has declared the state of alert, since Wednesday, calling on all members of the military battalions in the vicinity of Zuwara to report to their regiments immediately.
