The Mayor of the Municipality of Zintan, Mustafa Baroni said that the decision of the eastern-based government of Abdullah Al-Thani to appoint a new steering council in Zintan is an attempt to sow discord within the city.
Baroni confirmed in a press statement the categorical rejection of the municipal council and many of the city's residents for this new council, indicating that such actions constitute a violation of the rights of voters, the constitution and the law.
He further accused Al-Thani of ruining the political life, saying that the posts are given on the grounds of political orientation, without consideration of qualification and experience.
