The Mayor of Zawiya has confirmed that the municipality had received nine million dinars from the government for maintaining the aging infrastructure of the city.

Bahr said in media statements that they would be holding meetings with the Roads and Bridges Authority to review the targeted projects within the city, pointing out that local revenues are sufficient to meet the municipality's needs by up to 80%.

The mayor acknowledged that the value received does not cover all the municipality's needs, though it did get the service sector on its feet. He noted that they would also activate the collection system once finalizing the necessary arrangements.
