The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams, has met with Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, the Minister for South Asia, North Africa, the UN and the Commonwealth at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, in addition to other senior UK officials, to brief them on the current situation in Libya.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on supporting a viable electoral constitutional track in Libya in order to hold national elections on the basis of a solid constitutional framework, as soon as possible.

“We also reiterated the requirement to maintain calm on the ground, as well as the need to promote human rights, accountability and the rule of law”, Williams tweeted.
