The World Health Organization (WHO) has emphasized the need for a ceasefire in Libya to counter any potential spread of coronavirus.

On Wednesday, the organization voiced its strong support to the appeal of the UN mission in Libya to stop the fighting and allow the health authorities and health partners to do their job in this regard.

Yesterday, the UNSMIL said it adds it voice to the "international partners" urging an end to hostilities in the country for humanitarian purposes, in order to address the coronavirus crisis.
