The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of public health risks in Libya after the detection of tuberculous cases recently.

"250 illegal immigrants were diagnosed with tuberculosis in 2018. These numbers may double by the end of this year," the WHO's Information Office stated Monday.

Around $ 1.7 million are needed in order to combat the spread of this disease, including essential equipment and medicines, as well as training doctors and nurses to diagnose and treat TB patients, the WHO added.
