Taha Shakshouki, a member of the Tripoli Crisis Committee, has confirmed that there is contact being made with those responsible for shutting down the Man Made River in Shuwairf, pointing to the fact that they have backed down temporarily from completely closing the water valves.

Shakshouki said that the reopening of the valves will take place in the coming days. He also explained that Tripoli`s needs of water are being met by local wells, which are not available in all regions.

The General Director of the Man Made system at the Hasawna, located in Jufara, Mohammed Al-Hajjaji, confirmed during a meeting on Tuesday with the Deputy Chairman of Presidential Council, Ahmed Maitiq, that it will take 48 hours for water to arrive in the cities that have been cut off.
