The National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) stated Monday that the shortage and interruption of water supplies in some areas of Tripoli was due to the low water pressure in Hasawna System after re-routing the water supply to the eastern track.

"The measure was taken for maintenance issues, because of violations committed by some citizens, who installed illegal connections to the system," The NWRA explained on Facebook.

The NWRA emphasized that the operation and maintenance teams are working to restore water supply to normal as soon as possible, warning that the high incidence of attacks on the Man-made River Administration will threaten the water supplies to the capital.
