The manager of the Water Treatment Plant in Derna, Ahmed Leyas, has declared that the station has stopped working because of what he described as compelling conditions forcing them to withdraw and leave it.
Leyas added that they had to stop the plant to save the lives of workers and units of the station as well as equipment.
He called on all parties to distance themselves from the site of the desalination plant and apologized to the people of Derna for their inability to continue to work under the dangerous and difficult conditions experienced by the city.
Dignity Operation launched early this month a military operation to attack Derna and take it from what it called “terrorist groups.”
