The administration of the man-made river system warned that there will be an interruption in the water supply to most cities due to frequent attacks on water fields and transport routes.

The administration released a statement on Thursday in which they denounced the sabotage of some of the water fields at the Al-Hasawna water system, which resulted in the loss of approximately one hundred thousand cubic meters per day.

The administration added that they considered this as a blatant attack on the capabilities of the Libyan people, calling on official and legal bodies to assume their responsibilities to protect the man-made river system and its water resources.

More than 27 water wells at Al-Hasawna and Sahil Jafara were exposed last week to looting and vandalism, which caused them to go out of order.
