The Man-Made River Authority (MMRA) said on Thursday that water flows to the southern and central regions have stopped, after another breakdown in the public grid in just 48 hours.

It indicated that the central and western parts of the country will remain without water supplies until the electricity is restored.

"Operating teams are making continuous efforts to reactivate the sub-power stations to get the wells running again." the MMRA explained on Facebook.

Yesterday the MMRA indicated that it had restarted pumping water to the affected areas, ensuring consumers that taps will be running by Saturday night. However, the public grid in these regions has collapsed once again bringing the water system to a halt.
