Al-Monitor website has revealed that the US Congress is mulling sanctions against Moscow for deploying "Wagner" Russian forces in Libya to support Haftar.

The site specialized in Middle East politics, clarified that the Trump's administration is seeking to use paramilitary forces to stop Russian intervention and revitalizing the long-lost US strategy in Libya.

It referred to the appointment of Senator Chris Coons, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Senator Lindsey Graham, who is close to Trump, to enact a legislation that would codify the sanctions of the US Treasury to curb Russian activity in Libya.
