The Deputy Spokesperson for the US State Department, Jalina Porter, confirmed that Washington does not presently have anything in the pipeline, nor does it have any plan to announce the sending of an ambassador to Libya.

This came in a press conference when she was asked regarding the possibility of the US returning its ambassador to Tripoli, considering the political progress achieved by Libya in recent times.

It is worth noting that the US embassy in Libya remains closed, whilst American citizens receive all routine consular assistance and services from the headquarters of the US embassy in Tunis.
