The French presidency disclosed in a statement that Khalifa Haftar is to visit Paris on Wednesday to meet President, Emmanuel Macaron.

This comes days after the Presidential Council (PC) head, Fayez Al-Sarraj's visit to Paris, and his meeting with Macaron where the French presidency reaffirmed its support for the Government of National Accord (GNA).

Haftar's militias launched an attack on Tripoli early last April, which led to the deaths of hundreds and the injury of thousands, including civilians.

France, along with the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, has been accused of supporting Haftar's militias in their war on Tripoli.
