The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has named the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah, Anti-Corruption Champion for Libya.

The US embassy in Libya clarified, in a statement that Ambassador Richard Norland phoned Sanallah to congratulate and award him the Anti-Corruption Award virtually, promising to personally hand him the award when next they meet.

The embassy indicated that Sanallah’s transparent management of the oil and gas sector led to a steady increase in production, making the NOC a neutral and technocratic institution that works for the benefit of all Libyans.
