The Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Libya, Josh Harris, has called for a lift of the siege imposed on the oil ports, saying that the US is committed to strengthening the transparency in the management of oil and gas revenues.

Harris stressed, during his meeting with officials connected with Haftar in Benghazi on Wednesday, the necessity to stop the military escalation in Sirte and Al-Jufra to enable the National Oil Corporation to resume its work.

He also discussed the prospect for joint cooperation in the areas of fighting terrorism with the Minister of the Interior, Fathi Bashaga in Misrata last Monday.
