Washington’s special envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, revealed that talks have taken place with “unidentified” parties involving the United States, to assist in removing mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya.

Reuters quoted Norland as stating that there are ongoing negotiations with some significant parties, aimed at attempting to push certain mercenaries and foreign fighters to leave the country.

Norland stressed that part of the relevance of the elections in Libya lies in the hope of a strong, legitimate, and reliable government, which should pressure all foreign parties to withdraw their forces from the land.
