The US Embassy in Libya disclosed Saturday that its government has allocated 6 million dollars in humanitarian aid to Libya, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

"The assistance is to help Libyan health officials prevent the spread of the disease and respond to those in need," the embassy stated.

It added that the funds are an addition to the American efforts to invest in the Libyan health sector through the United States Agency for International Development, noting that the US has invested more than $ 715 million USD in total aid to Libya over the past twenty years.
