The United States has called on the House of Representatives (HoR) to hold a session at its soonest possible convenience, in order to give confidence to the new government.

This came during a phone call between the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, and the Speaker of the HoR in Tobruk, Aqaila Saleh.

The US embassy said that Norland emphasized the significance of holding a session of the HoR to vote on granting confidence to the new executive authority as soon as possible, stressing that the vote on confidence is an important step on the ladder towards holding elections in December.
