The United States (US) ambassador and special envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, reiterated the need to hold elections in Libya without any arguments, telling Libya Al-Ahrar TV in a televised interview that Washington won't tolerate or look away from those who are thinking of hindering elections.

Norland said technical and legal amendments to elections' laws should be made in consensus among Libyan leaders, explaining that there is a clear plan for the withdrawal of foreign fighters and mercenaries from Libya before and after elections.

On the sidelines of Paris Conference on Libya Friday, Norland said the US supports the overwhelming majority of Libyans who want to participate in peaceful elections on December 24, stressing that Washington is with a united, stable and sovereign Libya without foreign intervention, while the US Vice President said at the Paris Conference that they are in support of Libyans as they march on to elections in December.
