The United States Ambassador to Libya, Peter Bodi, reiterated his country's commitment to supporting Libya as a unified and stable state capable of countering terrorism and providing security for all Libyans.

The ambassador's remarks came during his visit, Wednesday, to the city of Misurata at the head of an official delegation, where he held a meeting with Interior Minister Fathi Pashagha, and commander of the Central Military Region Mohammed Al-Haddad, as well as with other military officials of the region.

"The talks between the two sides focused on efforts to ensure that security institutions are capable of providing protection for the Libyan people," The US Embassy stated.
