The US ambassador, Richard Norland, has denied the news published by different newspapers on the existence of a Western plan aimed at postponing elections in Libya.
The US embassy said on Twitter that ambassador Norland “notes and refutes false stories recently carried by Erem News and The New Arab that cite unnamed sources claiming a western plan to delay elections. The United States continues to support free and fair elections in Libya as early as possible.”
