US AFRICOM Chief reviews withdrawal of foreign forces from Libya

US Africa Command (AFRICOM) Chief, General Stephen Townsend, discussed with the Libyan National Unity Government representatives and Chief of General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, the need for foreign forces to withdraw from Libya immediately.

AFRICOM added in a statement on Monday that the meeting took place in Morocco on the margins of Exercise African Lion 21.

The statement said that Townsend and the Libyan officials also explored ongoing efforts to unify Libyan military institutions as well as boosting military cooperation with the US.
