The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority to allow the resumption of flights to all airports in Libya’s southern region.

UNSMIL announced in a statement on Sunday that this decision is as a result of the trust which has been built through the ceasefire agreement on October 23 and the continuation of the talks, held by the Joint Military Committee in Ghadames.

Haftar’s forces, who were responsible for the closure of Sabha Airport approximately one month ago, announced in the past few days that they would permit the resumption of air traffic at Sabha Airport, along with other airports in the southern region.
