The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomed on Saturday the announcement by the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to lift force majeure from the ports of Sidra and Ras Lanuf.

UNSMIL considered that the decision came as a result of confidence-building measures that were agreed upon and implemented through the Libyan Joint Military Committee (5 + 5).

It also added that this decision is in the interest of all Libyans, and proves what can be achieved when Libyans meet in good faith for the sake of their country.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) lifted on Friday the status of force majeure from the ports of Sidra and Ras Lanuf, confirming that foreign forces had left the ports.
