The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has called on the parties to the conflict in Tripoli to refrain from making what it called "inflammatory rhetoric", which could aggravate the situation and contribute to the escalation of the crisis in Tripoli.

In a tweet, the mission called on all concerned parties to exercise restraint in their statements, in a clear reference to the statement issued by the Seventh Brigade yesterday, which the mission described as completely contrary to the ceasefire agreement to which they have committed, warning that such statements could place them under accountability.

The UNSMIL confirmed the actual commencement of the agreement, noting that a package of drastic measures will proceed today.

The Seventh Brigade issued a statement yesterday hinting at the possibility of resuming the fighting in Tripoli.
