The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemned on Sunday the killing of civilians in the clashes south of Tripoli, including the photojournalist Mohammed Bin Khalifa.

UNSMIL emphasized through its Twitter account its commitment to push towards holding perpetrators accountable, noting that the repeated attacks on journalists in Libya, warrants measures to protect journalists and civilians.

"Direct and indirect attacks against civilians can constitute war crimes," UNSMIL affirmed.
