The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has documented the killing of five civilians, three men and two children, and the injury of one person in December in three cities.

The UNSMIL clarified that 3 deaths and 1 injury took place in Benghazi, in addition to one death in Zawiya and another in Sabratha.

It added that most of the injuries were caused by explosive remnants of war, and one death was recorded as a result of a shootout.

In their monthly report for December, the UNSMIL noted a decrease in the number of casualties for the second month in a row compared with October.

"Seven other casualties were recorded in December as a result of other violations of human rights and international law." The report added.
