The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said that it has held discussions with the Tawergha Local Council and the Tawergha Dialogue Committee regarding demining procedures for the safe return of the Tawergha people.

The UN mission stated on their Twitter page on Wednesday that they had also held discussions with a member of the Misrata Municipal Council, Ali Abu Sitta, regarding the means of disposal of unexploded ordnance in areas covered by the Misrata and Tawergha agreement.

The meeting was held in the presence of the Free Fields Organization and the Libyan Center for De-mining.

Delegations from Misrata and Tawergha signed a reconciliation agreement on June 3rd, agreeing upon the safe return of the people of Tawergha.
