The UN envoy to Libya Ján Kubiš has received a briefing by Lipika Choudhury, Coordinator of the Panel of Experts on Libya to the Security Council Sanctions Committee and the panel members, regarding the situation in the country.

According to a statement  by the UN Support Mission In Libya (UNSMIL) on Twitter, the panel's report covered the areas of armed groups, international humanitarian law, human rights, arms embargo, smuggling, illicit exports, maritime, and regional aspects.

Meanwhile, a full UN expert panel report is expected to be published over the coming weeks with more information about violations of the arms embargo during 2019 and 2020.

The Wall Street Journal quoted a New York-based diplomat and a former official with knowledge of the situation as saying that the report has already been submitted to the U.N.’s headquarters in New York and it is unlikely to be altered before it is released to the public.
