The spokeswoman of UN mission Sawsan Ghosha has emphasized support for the withdrawal of armed militias from Tripoli and all the cities.

"The mission is seeking to resume the ceasefire through communication with local and international parties," Ghosha told to demonstrators who protested outside the mission's headquarters on Saturday to demand a halt to the war.

Ghosha expressed the UN mission's support for peaceful demonstrations calling for economic and security reforms, according to a video clip on social platforms, insisting that the UNSMIL is a political mission authorized by the Security Council and not a security one, therefore it does not have the authority to impose security by force, as she put it.
