The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, disclosed on Friday that he had sent invitations to each of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS), to start a political dialogue before the end of January.

Salame insisted in a press statement that the key to solving the Libyan crisis lies mainly within the Libyans themselves.

He pointed out that the United Nations is determined to move forward with the inter-Libyan talks as soon as possible, reaffirming his support for all calls for a cease-fire in Libya.
