The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has welcomed the recent release of 17 detainees, all civilians abducted by warlord Haftar’s armed groups during the war on Tripoli.

In a statement which was issued on Saturday, the UNSMIL renewed its call to all national and international players to respect and support the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in conjunction with relevant Security Council (SC) resolutions.

The UNSMIL also welcomed the resumption of water flow to Tripoli, applauding the efforts of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission and Magarha tribe which led to the reopening of the Man-Made River (MMR), emphasizing that access and supply of water should never be used as a political tool.
