The 6th Regional Forum of Foreign Ministers of the Union for the Mediterranean expressed its full support for all international efforts regarding the process in Libya in order to achieve a peaceful political solution to the Libyan crisis.

In a joint statement issued, the Jordanian-European presidency of the forum considered that a peaceful political solution lends to the preservation and unity, not to mention sovereignty of Libya, and leads the way to cease all unwanted foreign interference in the country to achieve national reconciliation and much awaited sustainable peace on Libyan soil.

The statement reiterated the relevance of holding the presidential and parliamentary elections at the appointed time, being December 24, along with the implementation of the cease-fire agreement and its plan towards the total and complete withdrawal of all mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya within the promised timeframe.
