The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has condemned the clashes that erupted the past two days in the capital, Tripoli, which led to the death of a boy and the injury of four children.

“In Tripoli clashes a 17-year-old child was killed and four children were injured, one was only five years old. These violations against children must stop. Children must be protected at all times”, UNICEF Representative in Libya, Michele Servadei said in a tweet, adding “children in Libya need peace. They need it now”.
