The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) called Monday on all parties of the conflict in Tripoli to respite from violence and resort to dialogue and diplomacy to resolve any disputes.
The UNICEF warned that half a million children in Tripoli are at direct risk as a result of ongoing clashes in the capital.
In a statement Monday, the UNICEF clarified that more than 1,200 families had been displaced from their homes in the past two days alone; explaining that half of this figure is of children.
