The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has announced a five-year plan beginning early next year to protect children from violence.

The organization explained that it had held a consultation workshop with the Higher Committee for Childhood on the national plan of action for 2020-2025 to protect children.

The plan aims to define activities, objectives, and responsibilities over the next five years, to ensure the prevention of all forms of violence in Libya and to reintegrate girls and boys who have experienced any form of abuse, into society, according to the organization.
