UNHCR welcomed the decision of the Libyan Interior Ministry to close three immigration centres in Tajuora, Misurata, and Al-Khoms.

UNHCR spokesman André Mahicic said that they have called for an organized release of all refugees in accommodation shelters in Libya, emphasizing that the commission is ready to provide assistance to the released migrants.

He also explained that the UNHCR has no details on the transportation process of these migrants, pointing out that there are nineteen official shelters which accommodate around five thousand immigrants, and are all under the control of the Government of National Accord.
