The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has confirmed the transfer of 70 migrants from Libya to Romania during the last week.

UNHCR said it had supported the departure of 70 refugees directly from Libya to the emergency transit center in Romania before resettling them in a third country expecting to receive more refugees -mostly of vulnerable families- in the coming days.

The UNHCR has called for not to return rescued migrants to, -what it described- as the "concentration camps" in Libya, because of the poor humanitarian conditions they face there.
