The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has resettled a refugee family of five who had been residing in Libya to Australia, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

“The family is overjoyed that their 13-year-old child will finally be able to get urgent medical treatment currently unavailable in Libya”, the UNHCR said on its official Favorite page.

This is UNHCR's first departure to Australia, which comes a month after another group of refugees from Libya was resettled in Canada.
