The UNHCR has said that the Libyan Coast Guard had saved 8,848 migrants from the beginning of the year until the fifth of December.

UNHCR explained on Facebook that the number stated included the immigrants disembarked in Libya, and provided with medical assistance and basic relief materials by the UNHCR and its partners.

It also disclosed that 8 minor Eritreans left this week the Gathering and Departure Centre in Tripoli to Europe, as part of the resettlement program.
