The High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has confirmed that evacuation of refugees and asylum-seekers from the Gathering and Departure Facility (GDF) in Tripoli is undergoing.
UNHCR indicated that it evacuated more than 300 people in recent days, after suspending its operational work at the GDF for the safety and protection of people and staff amid worsening conflict in Tripoli.
Libya's Coast Guard saved more than 1,000 migrants since the beginning of this year, an increase of 121 percent in rescue operations on average, compared to the same period last year, according to the UNHCR.
