The United Nations Refugee Agency announced on Friday the arrival of an emergency aid convoy for the displaced people in the south of Libya.

The UNHCR confirmed through their official website that it managed this week to provide assistance to hundreds of displaced Libyan families in the city of Murzuq, adding that the convoy also distributed assistance to 850 displaced families in the city of Sabha.

The UNHCR added that the aid was initially kept in the city of Sabha because of the lack of access to the city of Murzuq and Ubari for security reasons, and pointed out that the intermitted clashes in Sabha from time to time, has forced nearly 1,900 Libyan families to flee their homes.
