The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has called for respect for international humanitarian law and for taking measures to protect civilians and civilian premises in Derna.

The office also called for access of humanitarian aid to the affected areas in the war-ravaged city, referring to reports of besieging civilians, including elderly people in the old city without any basic services.

Dignity Operation’s acts -which recently took control of Derna- have reached gruesome levels of cruelty, where corpses of their rivals were mutilated in public with total impunity, in a scene that was repeated earlier when they took over Benghazi.
