The UN Security Council condemned the terrorist attack on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli last Tuesday, demanding the support of the Presidential Council to bring the perpetrators to justice.

In a statement, the members of the Security Council expressed their condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Libyan people and the Presidential Council, calling on all States to cooperate actively with the Presidential Council and all the Libyan authorities in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions to combat the threat of terrorism.

“The members reaffirmed the need for all States to combat by all means, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and other obligations under international law, including international human rights law, international refugee law and international humanitarian law, threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts,” the statement stressed.
